Phong Bui, co-founder of art and culture journal The Brooklyn Rail, M-C Jerry Saltz, Pulitzer Prize winning writer and Senior Art Critic at New York Magazine - and world-renowned journalist Jane Pauley, the evening’s honoree - flanked by two of the Benefit Co-chairs, Frank Maresca of NYC’s Ricco/Maresca Gallery (l) and part-time, dim-star-journalist, yours truly (r) - celebrating the art and artists of NYC’s Fountain House Gallery at the Nov. 15th Benefit.
Twenty years ago, members of the public company world and their key service providers launched an “End of Annual Meeting Season Celebration” to benefit NYC’s Fountain House and Fountain House Gallery - both dedicated to helping people with serious mental illnesses return to and remain in the mainstream of life. After 15 years, with over $1 million raised, the event was folded into the fabulous Mad About Art exhibition and benefit…But financial industry stars still turn out in droves to celebrate the EndOfAM-Season and Fountain House Gallery’s fabulous artists. Industry sponsors included Broadridge Financial Solutions, CT Hagberg LLC, Innisfree M&A, AST/DF King, Computershare/Georgeson, Ellen Philip Associates, Morrow Sodali,Okapi Partners, Raymond Riley & Associates - and more than a dozen CTHLLC Inspectors of Election.
Over 100 artists were in attendance, and nearly every artwork on the walls was sold to enthusiastic bidders - with a few still left at www.fountainhousegallery.org. Please go to www.fountainhouse.org to see all the amazing things that go on there - and consider making a donation: EVERY DAY should be a Mental-Health day…and EVERY DAY should also be a day of Thanks Giving: F-H has, without a doubt, the most successful - and the most cost-effective program in the world, as you will see.
